Researchers and Educators Lead the Charge in the Battle Against Alzheimer’s Disease

At HomeoLux we are mission-driven to beat Alzheimer’s and prevent cognitive decline. We do our work for our parents, our sisters and brothers, our friends, our neighbors and for the millions of people who are either battling Alzheimer’s disease or looking to prevent it. We are dramatically motivated by scientists and researchers who are dedicating their life’s work to making sense of the mystery of brain health and memories. Just as much, we’re inspired by the network of life-scientists, doctors and individuals who support caregivers and families facing a long, cruel and consistent battle with the disease.

The leaders in brain research and wellness routines are a source of information and inspiration for me. Their work is impactful to anyone who is conscious of brain heath and is seeking longevity. Here’s a short list of some of the leaders in this space. I hope they become valuable resources for you and your families too.

Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation

The mission of the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation is to rapidly accelerate the discovery of drugs to prevent, treat and cure Alzheimer's disease. The Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation (ADDF) supported the first diagnostic test for Alzheimer's disease and helped fund approximately 20% of all treatments for Alzheimer's currently in clinical trials.

ADDF focuses on translating the knowledge that they gain about the causes of Alzheimer's disease into drugs to conquer it.

The ADDF continues to provide early support for pioneering ideas, and they also invest a growing percentage of their funds in clinical trials for drugs further in development.

HFC formerly known as Hilarity for Charity

HFC is a nonprofit movement, led by Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Rogen, whose mission is to care for families facing this disease, educate young people about living a brain-healthy life, and activate the next generation of Alzheimer’s advocates. HFC was created to inspire future generations to stand up and take action against Alzheimer’s, which has been historically considered “an old person’s disease.”

HFC is committed to changing the trajectory of Alzheimer’s disease through prevention and brain health education, while also providing critical support to families impacted by the disease today. Their commitment and impact is driven by humor, innovation, and science.

The Bright Focus Foundation

BrightFocus funds exceptional scientific research worldwide to defeat Alzheimer’s disease, macular degeneration, and glaucoma and provides expert information on these heartbreaking diseases.

BrightFocus Foundation is at the forefront of brain and eye health, advancing early-stage, investigator-initiated research around the world. Their programs are designed to provide initial funding for highly innovative experimental ideas for Alzheimer's disease, macular degeneration, and glaucoma.

The Alzheimer's Disease Research (ADR) program began in 1985 and since its inception has awarded nearly $140 million to support promising research in fields ranging from molecular biology to genetics to epidemiology. ADR is currently supporting 133 outstanding biomedical research projects after awarding 53 new grants.

For more information about Alzheimer’s disease and caregiver networks, you can always find valuable resources at the Alzheimer’s Association; they are the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research.

The leaders in brain research and wellness routines are a source of information and inspiration for me. Their work is impactful to anyone who is conscious of brain heath and is seeking longevity.

Together these organizations, and ours, are striving for a cure for Alzheimer’s disease and to uncover new therapies for treatment and prevention. I continue to be optimistic about a world without Alzheimer's disease and I’m bolded by this collective body of research, care and support networks, and advocacy.
